N.Y. College Reports Active Shooter Near Campus

BROCKPORT, N.Y.

A New York state university has been placed on lockdown after police reported an active shooter just outside campus grounds.

According to the school’s Web site, police have contained the suspect. The Los Angeles Times reports the lockdown was lifted after law enforcement confined the alleged shooter in a house.

The College at Brockport has not begun its regular semester; however, several hundred staffers and faculty may have been on campus during the shooting.

No injuries were reported and no further details were immediately available.
