PHILADELPHIA — Incidents of reported violence at Philadelphia School District schools have declined since last year, and the number of schools considered “persistently dangerous” is down.
The number of unsafe schools — classified as such under federal guidelines — has dropped 47 percent since 2010, the Inquirer reports. In 2010, 19 of the district’s schools were considered unsafe; now there are 10 dangerous schools.
Violent incidents dropped from 4,921 to 4,220, a 14 percent decrease.
