OAKLAND, Calif. – Five Oakland schools will be able to offer their students free health care as part of a $3 million grant from Kaiser Permanente.
The health care provider will place clinics at four high school campuses and one middle school and will officer care in mental health, chronic disease management, sexually transmitted diseases and other health problems students tend to acquire daily. Furthermore, the clinics will educate students on preventive health.
The goal is to provide students who do not have health insurance the proper care they need.
