Norfolk School District OKs Continued Use of Pepper Spray

NORFOLK, Va.— Norfolk school security officers will continue to be equipped with pepper spray until at least January.

A report to the school board stated that pepper spray is needed as a last resort to address violence, protect students and protect security officers, reports The division has been using the weapon since 1997 and used it three times between Oct. 19 and 26.
