NFPA Conference and Exposition Starts June 4 in Orlando

QUINCY, Mass. – The national Fire Protection Association (NFPA) announced that its 2006 World Safety Conference and Exposition (WSC&E) will take place June 4 – 8 in Orlando, Fla.

NFPA anticipates that on June 4, more than 5,000 attendees will hear keynote speakers George Ockuly, NFPA chairman, and James Shannon, NFPA president. Industry experts will be recognized and receive awards in a variety of areas, including fire safety education, research, development of codes and distinguished service.

Stand-up comedian and former Saturday Night Live cast member Kevin Nealon will close the Sunday afternoon program.

On June 5, acting FEMA Director David Paulison will be the featured morning speaker. His presentation, called Hurricane Katrina: Lessons Learned, will provide insights on how the response to this event may have influenced the responses to Hurricanes Rita and Wilma.

In addition to the June 4 and 5 activities, the 2006 WSC&E will feature an educational conference, two days of pre-conference seminars and a three-day product exposition.
