New York Senate Introduces Anti-Bullying Legislation

NEW YORK – The New York Senate has introduced legislation aimed at banning bullying in public schools, according to the New York Times. The bill includes language protecting transgender students and teachers.

If passed, the bill would require training for teachers to help them recognize and respond to bullying. Additionally, school would be expected to document each bullying incident.

Senate Republicans introduced the legislation, however, no sponsor was listed. It is unclear when the bill will be presented on the floor.
