TORRANCE, Calif. – Campus Safety Magazine, the only publication exclusively serving the public safety and security needs of hospitals, schools and universities, announces the creation of a two-day training program, the Campus Safety Conference. It will be held February 19-20, 2008 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, Calif.
The Campus Safety Conference brings together university, school and hospital police chiefs, public safety directors, campus administrators, facility managers, IT personnel, superintendents and principals, municipal, county, state and federal law enforcement officers and other community leaders and stakeholders involved in the protection of the nation’s campuses.
The conference will focus on practical risk-reduction measures and strategies to prevent or reduce violence on campus, as well as ways of handling many of the emergencies, such as shootings and hostage situations, that plague or have the potential of affecting the nation’s healthcare and educational institutions. Sessions will feature a variety of topics, including mass notification, campus communications interoperability, working with the media, site assessments and critical incident management. The conference will also announce the Campus Safety Director of the Year during a reception on Tuesday, February 19, 5pm – 6:30pm.
