N.Y. Patient Attacks Guard, Steals Ambulance

OSWEGO, N.Y.—An Oswego Hospital patient was arrested for assaulting a hospital security officer and stealing an ambulance.

Matthew Belskis assaulted the officer around 10:46 a.m on July 23., before driving off in an ambulance that was parked outside the emergency entrance, according to Syracuse.com. Police found the ambulance nine minutes later on a nearby street. Belskis was found in a nearby home that he had broken into.

The security officer suffered minor injuries. No one else was injured during the incident.

The suspect has been charged with robbery in the second degree. His bail was set for $5,000.
