N.J. School Security Workers Protest Layoffs with Sick-Out

TRENTON, N.J.—All of the security guards employed by the Trenton Public School District called in sick Monday, in what some believe was a protest of looming layoffs.

District officials have discussed the idea of laying off security workers and other school employees as a way to cut costs, reports MyFoxNY.com.

While the security workers were off, the Trenton Police Department was called in to provide security.

One 16-year-old female student at Trenton Central was arrested for inappropriate behavior. There were also reports of food fights and books being thrown; however, there were no other major incidents.
