POLK COUNTY, N.C. – The Polk County Board of Commissioners met on Monday to review recommendations from a security task force that recommended $339,999 of improvements for the district’s six schools.
The task force suggested hiring two SROs, installing video surveillance, panic alarms and improved access control, reports the Tryon Daily Bulletin. The two SROs would cost $85,109; panic alarms would cost $14,000 per school and the security cameras would cost $163,890.
Further discussion about the recommended upgrades is scheduled for January.
