N.C. ABC Board Gives $100K for School Security

NEW HANOVER, N.C. — The New Hanover Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) Board has donated $100,000 to help fund armed security officers at all schools in the state in response to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

The ABC Board typically distributes some of its profits to the city of Wilmington and other beach towns, but the board decided to specifically contribute the funds toward security in those areas, StarNews reports.
