MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark., The Mountain Home Police Department has received a $12,558 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to improve safety in the Mountain Home School District. The Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Security Our Schools grant is a matching grant with the remainder to come from local funs.
The department will purchase 19 digital video surveillance cameras, which will be installed inside and outside school buildings. Other equipment to be purchased includes a digital video recorder (DVR), monitor, hand-held metal detector, four portable radios, three laptop computers, three hand-held computers, a projector and 648 feet of fence. Training on how to respond to missing and exploited children emergencies will also be funded.
