Mother Charged With Neglect After Using Infant Son’s Pain Medication

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. — A woman was arrested and charged with felony child neglect and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance after she allegedly used her infant son’s intravenous pain medication for herself.

Police say security footage from Cabell Huntington Hospital shows Tiffany Brook McIntire, 25, taking her 4-month-old son’s pain medication, WOWK reports. McIntire’s son is a patient at the facility.

McIntire told police she has prior addiction to pain medication. She was taken to the Western Regional jail.
