A Moose Walks Into a Hospital…No, This Isn’t the Start of a Bad Joke

A non-threatening moose walked into the hospital in Anchorage and began eating plants in the lobby before leaving the building on its own.

An unlikely guest paid a visit to Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage on Monday, when a moose wandered in, leaving staff in awe.

The massive animal walked right through the automatic entrance doors when they were stuck open due to the extremely cold temperature, which has been hovering around zero degrees as of late, reports AP News.

Whether it was the warm lobby or the plants that drew the animal in, it was seen munching on some green leaves before leaving the hospital on its own after about 10 minutes.

Many of the plants inside were not native to Alaska and likely not appealing to the moose.

Hospital security staff quickly locked the door and secured the area after the moose left.

Stephanie Hupton, who works in the building, says she never felt threatened by the moose because it was so calm.

Other than eating some plants, the moose did not cause any injuries or problems.

“It was a pretty calm visit,” said hospital spokeswoman Kjerstin Lastufka.
