Montana State Considers Updating Stalking, Dating Violence Policies

Published: February 9, 2014

Montana State University (MSU) Title IX coordinators could soon be responsible for investigating claims of dating violence, domestic violence and stalking on campus.

If the policy change is adopted,  coordinators on MSU’s Bozeman, Billings, Great Falls and Havre campuses would lead the investigations, regardless of whether or not they involved students or campus staff, reports the Bozeman Daily Chronicle.

MSU officials will be explaining the proposed policy update in the next month to faculty, employees and students.

The policies have been revised so the school will be in compliance with the Violence Against Women Act. The change is also being proposed to prevent confusion.
