ST. LOUIS, Mo. — St. Louis University was forced to spend more than $11,000 to replace 700 locks and keys around campus after an officer misplaced a set of keys in the snow. The missing keys were able to open hundreds of doors to dorms and apartments on campus.
Students were notified by E-mail and by their resident advisors after the keys were reported missing, KSDK reports. University officials made the decision to change the cores of the locks and issue new keys to students to prevent potential break-ins.
There have been no reports of incidents related to the missing keys.
