Michigan Teen Shot at School by Ex-Boyfriend

MIDLAND, Mich. – An upset high school student shot his ex-girlfriend four times and then killed himself March 7.

The unidentified 17-year-old shooter from Coleman went to H.H. Dow High School to speak to his former girlfriend, Jessica Forsyth. After being denied entry by school officials, he called Forsyth, 17, and arranged to meet her in the school’s parking lot. Following a conversation, he shot her four times with a gun he was carrying in his backpack. He then shot himself in the head. Forsyth’s mother observed the shooting from her car in the parking lot, and drove between the two after the attack to protect her daughter.

Forsyth was taken to Hurley Medical Center in Flint where she is in serious but stable condition, according to a hospital spokesperson. Police say the shooter died in the parking lot.
