NORTHVILLE, Mich. — The Northville Board of Education has unanimously approved spending $897,000 to upgrade security at Northville Public Schools.
The district will use the funds to install structured cabling and new hardware and software. For example, NPS plans to install new access control technology at designated entry points at all schools, Observer & Eccentric reports.
Additionally, the district will replace existing security cameras with updated technology at internal and external points at each school location. The technology will include software that supports both the cameras and access control system.
NPS plans to have the cameras and software installed and functional by spring. Installation of the access control solution is expected to be completed by the 2014-15 school year.
