DARTMOUTH, Mass. — The Dartmouth Town Council approved spending $662,000 to improve school security during a meeting Wednesday.
The two-phase security upgrade will include improving safety at school entrances and giving police access to school cameras and intercom systems.
The request was part of a $3.04 million capital needs package, which included upgrades for school security, road maintenance, the police station and town phone systems, South Coast Today reports.
