GLOUCESTER, Mass. — Thirty-six security cameras were installed on Gloucester High School’s campus Feb. 28. The project cost $76,000.
The cameras, which monitor 1,100 students in a 250,000 square foot facility, were paid for by a matching grant with the local police department, the Gloucester Times reports. The district covered half of the cost.
Principal William Goodwin said the cameras were posted in common areas, but not in bathrooms or classrooms.
