Mass. District Reinstates Security Director Position
MILFORD, Mass. — The Milford School Committee recently voted to reinstate the job of its district school safety and security director after initially cutting the position during a May 10 meeting.
Some members of the committee felt the work of the director could be done by others in the district, The Milford Daily News reports. School Safety and Security Director David Cutler said in a statement that the decision to cut his job came as a “complete and utter shock.” However, now that the position has been reinstated, Cutler has opted not to return, as it was “hardly an endorsement of the position.’’
Town Counsel Gerald Moody recommended that the committee discuss the job cut again because it didn’t do a thorough enough job of posting the agenda under the terms of the recently overhauled state Open Meeting Law.
