Man Uses Baby as Decoy to Steal Nurse’s Billfold

A 36-year-old man used a baby as a decoy to access restricted areas at RedmondRegional Medical Center.

ROME, Ga. – Police arrested a man who used a baby as a decoy to access restricted areas at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Video surveillance footage shows Berry Cochran, 36, walking the halls of the medical center, ActionNewsJax.com reports.

Cochran, who was out on parole for another crime, allegedly stole a billfold from a nurse that was locked in her office drawer, while holding a baby. The victim said the suspect when on to spend a large sum of money on her credit card.

No patient security was compromised during the incident, although hospital officials plan to increased security.
