Louroe Electronics, an audio monitoring company, and Sound Intelligence, an audio classification developer, launched the new Gunshot Detector. The Gunshot Detector uses Louroe’s cameras, microphones and video management software to recognize a gun discharge up to 3,000 feet away in quiet environments, according to the company.
This is the second solution Louroe has added to its audio analytics suite, giving security officers an early warning in high-risk situations. The Gunshot Detector works for certain shotguns, automatic rifles, handguns and rifles. Within seconds of detection, the Gunshot Detector sends a notification to police or first responders, according to the company.
