Lightning Strike Sends Syracuse U. Cop to Hospital

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – On Sunday evening, Syracuse University Public Safety Officer Stanley Prue was thrown four feet from his vehicle and knocked unconscious after his car was struck by lightning.

The incident occurred when Prue was exiting his vehicle during a break in a rain storm, reports Syracuse.com. When he put his foot on the ground, lightning struck and shocked the officer. Prue’s partner was seated in the car and was also stunned by the strike. He then realized what had happened to Prue and immediately called for assistance. Prue was then taken to a local hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.
