Lawsuits Pouring in After Hepatitis C Outbreak

EXETER, N.H. — More than half a dozen lawsuits are being filed against Exeter Hospital following a hepatitis C outbreak.

The outbreak was likely caused by a drug-stealing employee, according to state health officials. Twenty patients have been infected so far, and that number will probably rise as test results on hundreds of patients come back, the Exeter Patch reports.

The largest lawsuit is a class-action lawsuit involving 44 plaintiffs.
