Lawsuit Claims District Remiss in Kindergarten Sexual Assault

AUSTIN, Texas – The parents of two kindergarteners filed a lawsuit against the Eanes Independent School District and an elementary school principal for allegedly not protecting their daughters against being sexually assaulted by another kindergartener.

The parents claimed their children were repeatedly molested by another girl in their class, even after the other girl’s mother had warned the school that her daughter had been sexually abused and might pose a threat to her classmates.

The lawsuit further accuses the school of sexually discriminating against the parents’ children, as the school, it claims, would have taken stronger steps if the assault had involved a male student.

Eanes Superintendent Nola Wellman denies the accusations.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified monetary damages.
