Kent State Installs Critical Information Management System

NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio

Kent State University at Tuscarawas, located in Tuscarawas County, has installed NaviGate, the critical information management system from Lauren Innovations. The university will use NaviGate for online access to safety and security information and response to incidents in emergency situations. Their focus is to enhance their emergency response procedures as well as their partnerships with local first responders.

“Since we were first introduced to NaviGate, we have been very interested in the efficiencies it has to offer,” said Dr. Gregg L. Andrews, Dean of Kent State Tuscarawas. “We think Navigate has great potential for assisting in the handling of emergency response situations and in doing so, we anticipate it will enhance our partnerships with our local first responders and their ability to have immediate access to facilities and timely information.”

Shannon Bailey, Lead IT User Support Analyst, said, “NaviGate will help us utilize all of our resources in one easy-to-access online application designed to save time during critical incidents.  Lauren Innovations has been extremely helpful to Kent State Tuscarawas during the customization of NaviGate to accommodate the needs of our campus.  We appreciate their expertise during our set-up process.  As we complete the project, we are discovering that NaviGate may be useful to us for more than just emergencies, but also day-to-day activities such as inventory processes and orientation with the university layout.”

Said Bennett Fierman, PhD and president of Lauren Innovations, “The NaviGate Critical Information Management System connects organizations and their facilities with community first responders, providing them with vital information about the situation and the involved facility in an emergency incident. It is designed for first responders to collaborate on the creation of the safety plan, so they know what to expect and do before they even arrive at a scene. NaviGate not only lets an organization apply and update plans, policies and procedures, it also communicates an organization’s critical information to the appropriate people. It allows for secure, instant online access to the information anytime, anywhere. Beyond the response functionality, the system also provides enhanced administrative and operational capabilities, including best practices, regulatory compliance, communications, and learning management.”

Kent State University Tuscarawas is located in New Philadelphia, Ohio and offers 29 degrees at the associate, bachelor’s and master degree levels. As part of Kent State University’s eight-campus network, Kent State Tuscarawas offers all the resources of a major research university in a small college atmosphere. NaviGate has been developed by Lauren Innovations to manage and apply the critical information any company or institution needs to effectively run and optimize their organization.  From day-to- day operations and learning management to compliance and safety initiatives, NaviGate allows for secure, instant online access to the information anytime, anywhere. Navigate allows users to take immediate, focused action in a time of crisis.  Based on its proven effectiveness, NaviGate has been designated as a qualified anti-terrorism technology by the US Department of Homeland Security.
