SANTA ROSA, Calif. — Police arrested a Santa Rosa Junior College Police Department officer Wednesday for grand theft and embezzlement.
Jeff Hozlworth, 49, is a 28-year employee at the school. SRJCPD Chief Matt McCaffrey contacted authorities on Nov. 1 after he received information about a possible ongoing embezzlement by a junior college police officer, reports San Jose Mercury News.
Holzworth is suspected of stealing several thousand dollars; however, Santa Rosa Police declined to give a specific figure. It is unclear of how he allegedly took the money or where the funds originated, The Press Democrat reports.
The suspect has been placed on administrative leave from the junior college.
