Widespread corruption, including drug use and some drug dealing by players, took place in Oklahoma State University’s (OSU) football program from 2001 to 2012, claims a special report from Sports Illustrated.
The publication interviewed more than 100 individuals, including 64 former players who allege widespread corruption at the school in its effort to build a winning football program. The series alleges the following:
- OSU football players received under-the-table cash payments
- Some players had their schoolwork done for them
- Players were using drugs, and some were dealing them. Most of the use involved marijuana, but some players also used cocaine, hydrocodone pills and codeine syrup.
- Some women in the hostess group for OSU’s football program had sex with recruits
OSU officials have vowed to investigate the allegations.
