InterAct Public Safety Systems, a leading provider of safety and security software used by government agencies as well as private sector businesses, today announced a $1.5 Million Stimulus Grant Program in support of public safety agencies planning to upgrade their mission-critical software. Agencies that apply for the program can secure up to $1.5 million in matching funds for computer aided dispatch, geographic information systems, mobile law enforcement software, and criminal information systems from InterAct Public Safety Systems.
Grant funds are open to any national, regional, state, or local public and private entity, including for-profit and nonprofit organizations, faith-based and community organizations, institutions of higher education, tribal jurisdictions, and units of local government that support initiatives to improve the functioning of the public safety system.
“Today, agencies that are tasked with the most important job in the community -protecting public safety – are facing a daunting task,” said Andrew J. “Flip” Filipowski, executive chairman and chief executive officer of InterAct Public Safety Systems. “Amidst dire budget shortfalls, they’re under immense pressure to respond to emergencies using outmoded software. Our new Stimulus Grant Program brings the critical funds to support the agencies’ mission.”
The InterAct Stimulus Grant Program helps local communities improve the capacity of local justice systems and provides for national support efforts, including PHASE II compliance and technical assistance programs strategically targeted to address local needs.
The monies provided through InterAct Public Safety Systems may also quality as matching funds to be used in conjunction with other grant programs. Agencies can begin submitting applications as of today. Grant funds will be distributed through this open solicitation throughout fiscal year 2010.
