BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Approximately $40,000 in electronics were discovered vandalized on the Indiana University campus Feb. 26.
University police found a multitude of broken glass, dispensed fire extinguisher chemicals and damaged electronics in Ballantine and Jordan halls. Among the damaged electronics were pulled-out projector and workstation wire, a gouged touch panel, computer keyboards flung through window fixtures and broken computer kiosks. In addition to several rooms getting sprayed over with dry chemical from fire extinguishers, a freezer containing unspecified materials at negative 70 degrees was unplugged.
Police assume the vandalism in both buildings is related, most likely stemming from a grudge against one of the occupants. No arrests have been made, and no suspects have been named.
