Krystle Steed used various techniques to avoid security questions and sidestep fraud protections with the accounts, placing phone orders for more than $300,000 worth of merchandise. The indictment claims Krystle attempted to make more than $1 million in fraudulent purchases.

Kyle Steed was suspended without pay during the investigation and has since been fired from the hospital.

A hospital spokesperson said the hospital will continue to improve its security protocols to avoid such information theft in the future.
