Husband Fatally Shoots Wife in Hospital Garage

DALLAS — An executive assistant at the University of Texas (UT) Southwestern Medical Center was fatally shot in the campus’ parking garage by her estranged husband Tuesday evening.

Police arrested Ferdinand Smith, 41, for the death of 40-year-old wife Karen. Ferdinand shot his wife multiple times around 7:35 p.m., when she was leaving work, myFOXdfw.com reports. Karen had reportedly gotten a restraining order against her husband, who worked as a security officer at an early education charter school, a month ago.
