How Technology Monitoring Keeps Kids Safe

Here's how your district can protect student online activities and ensure laptops, tablets and smartphones are used appropriately.

Many school districts now provide their students with laptops, tablets and other devices that can be connected to the Internet, both at school and at home. Additionally, students are connecting to school wifi networks with their own devices, such as their mobile phones.

Doing so can help children learn more effectively and take advantage of all the perks provided by 21st century technology. The challenge with the use of all of these devices, however, is safety and security.

Cyber bullying and sexting by students are two downsides, as is the potential for sexual predators to communicate directly with children and teens.
