Medical Center Settles 32 Child Molestation Cases

HARTFORD, Conn. — On May 9, St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center settled lawsuits with 32 people who claimed to have been sexually assaulted by a now deceased doctor. Dr. George Reardon is believed to have molested scores of children over a 30-year period.

Joel Faxon, a lawyer who represents the 32 plaintiffs, said in a statement that his clients were satisfied with the settlement, the Associated Press reports.

Cases for 40 other plaintiffs claiming to have been sexually abused by Reardon are scheduled to go forward. Jury selection for the next trial is expected to begin May 24.
