DETROIT — Two pit bulls attacked a Henry Ford Hospital employee as she was arriving for work Saturday.
Another employee who witnessed the attack rushed to help, The Detroit News reports. Hospital security and Detroit police officers also responded to the scene.
“The officers were forced to fatally shoot both dogs when the dogs turned on them,” according to a statement issued by the hospital. “Our employee was treated for her injuries and is expected to return to work in the coming weeks.”
