HOUSTON — A Methodist Hospital employee appeared in court Sept. 9, charged with organized criminal activity for taking personal information from patients from October 2010 to May 2011.
Shantel Moore is suspected of participating in the scam with her fiancée Antoine Williams, and Patrick Reed, the Houston Chronicle reports. The group is accused of taking out more than 50 short-term loans using the information they stole to purchase a Maserati Quattroporte, a BMW 6 Series convertible and designer clothes.
Patients whose information was compromised are being offered free credit monitoring for the next year by the hospital.
