CEO Facebook Imposter Tells Staffer ‘I Love You’

MURRAY, Ky. — The CEO of Murray-Calloway County Hospital discovered that there are two Facebook profiles using his identity: his personal Facebook page and that of an unknown person posing as him.

The user of the fake profile has sent friend requests to Jerry Penner’s colleagues at the hospital, as well as posted pictures taken from the hospital’s photo feed, the Murray Ledger & Times reports. Recently, the imposter sent a message to a hospital employee that said “I love you.”

Shelley Johnson, a spokesperson for the Kentucky Attorney General’s office, said complaints about misuse of social media have become more common. The office recently released general data privacy guidelines for social media sites.
