Honor Student May Lose Sight After Middle School Mobbing

A 13-year-old Janis Dismus Middle School honor student is undergoing facial reconstructive surgery after being brutally attacked by as many as 11 students.

David Muneton was attacked by a group of boys as he was walking home from school on Dec. 18. Investigators believe the teens attacked Muneton for accidentally hitting a girl with a basketball, reports Fox News.

Muneton, who has been in the hospital since the attack, is undergoing reconstructive surgery to repair broken bones in his face. He is also at risk for losing his sight.

According to the report, seven students – including a 12-year-old – have been arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Four more teenage suspects may also be charged.
