HCDE to Host Cyber Bullying Workshop Oct. 3

HOUSTON – The Harris County Department of Education (HCDE) announces it will be hosting a cyber bullying workshop Oct. 3.

There has been an increase in concern about bullying in schools and the short-term and long-term effects on both the bully and the target. This workshop explores the various types of bullying, provides a definition,dispels common myths surrounding bullying and highlights the effects of bullying. Current statistics are shared, and a discussion of potential legal concerns is facilitated. “Hot spots” for potential bullying in schools are also highlighted.

“Bullying: An Informational Overview” will be hosted by Laura Hodges, MA, LPC-S and will take place Oct. 3, 9 a.m. – noon.
