Guard Arrested in Hospital Equipment Theft

Published: February 23, 2011

MURRIETA, Calif. — A security guard from the Loma Linda University Medical Center was arrested on Feb. 16 after he allegedly stole a computer monitor from the facility. The guard was captured on a surveillance camera tucking the $6,500 monitor into his jacket.

Police searched Adam Keophommachack’s home but were unable to locate the monitor, The Press-Enterprise reports. Another $80,000 in equipment has also been stolen from the hospital, but investigators have been unable to link the thefts to Keophommachack.

The hospital, which is still under construction, is set to open in March. Keophommachack was employed by a security company subcontractor to patrol the site until construction was complete. He is now on administrative leave.

Keophommachack is also listed as a campus police officer on the San Bernardino Valley College Website.
