Witnesses of the gang rape against a 15-year-old girl outside her homecoming dance did not try to stop the two-hour long attack for fear of being called “snitches,” according to police.
Other witnesses, including minors, said they did not feel accountable for the attack, even while they watched. Witnesses now say the victim was repeatedly kicked in the head as a group took turns raping her, reports ABC News.
Six men have been arrested and 20 others are being named as witnesses for watching the attack. The suspects range from age 15 to 21.
The 15-year-old was allegedly gang-raped after she left her Richmond High School homecoming dance on Oct. 23. According to reports, she was heavily intoxicated at the time.
