FOLKSTON, Ga. — Police have arrested a Charlton County High School math teacher for allegedly having sex with seven of her students.
DaNita Wilson, 32, faces at least seven counts of sexual assault, for engaging in inappropriate sexual relationships with students between the ages 15 and 16. More charges could possibly be added as the investigation progresses, according to the Huffington Post.
Although 16 is the age of consent in Georgia, sex with a student is classified as a felony. Wilson, a married mother of two children, faces up 25 years per count if convicted and a $100,000 fine. In the case of the underage student, Wilson’s sentence could extend to 50 years.
