OTTAWA, Ontario, Canada – A judge sentenced a former security guard at The Ottawa Hospital to four years in prison for sexually assaulting two mentally disabled patients in the psychiatric ward.

Last year, Clinton Russell, 44, was convicted of sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a person with a disability in two separate trials involving one complainant, Metro News reports.

The victims are adult female patients with the mental age of a child between the ages of five and eight. The victims said Russell forced them to perform oral sex, which the former security guard vehemently denies.

Russell will now be placed on the sex offenders’ registry for life. He plans to appeal his conviction.
