A disgruntled former hospital manager was arrested after hitting hospital security guards and making a variety of threats to employees over time.
David Barrera was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer after hitting and kicking hospital security guards in May in the Florida facility he used to work at, according to wesh.com.
Court documents show Barrera quit his job as a human resource manager at Wuesthoff Hospital in 2014 and proceeded to make frequent visits to the hospital to violently threaten his former coworkers.
Barrera reportedly gained access to secure offices in the facility and told workers he was going to kill everyone in the emergency room as well as the human resources department and the former CEO. Barrera also reportedly threatened to blow up the hospital.
Police also detailed an incident when Barrera entered the home of one former coworker and took a photo with the worker’s seven-year-old daughter. Barrera sent the picture to the worker while she was working at the hospital.
Barrera has undergone psychiatric evaluations and is being held without bail, but a judge refused to file an injunction ordering Barrera not to return to the hospital.
