Former Teacher Allegedly Ties 2-Year-Old With Tape

PLEASANTON, Calif. — A former teacher at Centerpointe Christian Preschool has been accused of tying up a 2-year-old student for refusing to take a nap.

The suspect, whose name was not released, allegedly showed cell phone pictures of the child’s wrists and ankles being tied together with masking tape during a luncheon with colleagues. One of the teachers in attendance included the child’s mother, the Associated Press reports.

School officials learned of the incident March 4, although the exact date of the incident is unknown.

Administrators plan to suspend classes for five days, effective March 15, while staff undergoes training and outside experts analyze procedure.
