HALTOM CITY, Texas — A former Haltom High School teacher has been indicted by a Tarrant County grand jury for allegedly having sex with four of her students.
Police arrested 39-year-old Tonya Flink, who taught computer technology at the high school until August 2011, following a yearlong investigation. Parents of one of Flink’s former students — a Haltom High graduate — contacted police in September 2011, stating that their son was living with her at her apartment, NBC News reports.
A police report notes that the student in question admitted that his relationship with Flint began when the teacher tutored the boy after school to help with his grades, which led to a sexual relationship. Authorities also discovered that Flint brought clothing for some of the students she had affairs with and made at least 850 phone calls to one of them over a period of a few months.
Flint resigned from her position at the high school before police began their investigation. She later worked for Carter Riverside High School, but resigned from her position before anyone learned of her alleged involvement with students.
