Former Student Looking for Recommendation Prompts High School Shut Down

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 21-year-old former student who was dressed in camouflage and a flak jacket and was wearing a holster that didn’t contain a gun came onto the campus of L’Anse Creuse High School, prompting administrators to close the school on Tuesday.

The man is an airman at a local base and entered the high school at 6 a.m., reports the Detroit Free Press. He was looking for a school counselor to give him a recommendation. He then left the school and encountered a counselor in the parking lot.

A middle school and elementary school were also closed as a precaution.
