Former Police Chief Arrested For Pawning Guns

WACO, Texas — Former Texas State Technical Police Chief Robert Ashley “Rob” Williams was arrested Jan. 13 after being named in a sealed indictment charging abuse of official capacity of $1,500 or more, but less than $20,000.

Williams was fired from the department after an internal investigation into the improper use of items in the property room, KWTX.com reports. The indictment, which was unsealed on Jan. 13, accuses Williams of selling several firearms from the department’s property room.

An internal audit found that the department did not perform its annual equipment inventory correctly.
