Former City Police Chief Takes District Security Director Job

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. — Peter Mangarella, the former New Brunswick Police Chief, is taking a new position as director of security for New Brunswick Public Schools.

Mangarella will receive a salary of $90,000 as director of security in addition to an $116,405 annual pension for his 26 years of service with the police department, the New Brunswick Patch reports. He was replaced by Anthony Caputo.

Caputo makes $120,000 as the city’s police director and also gets a $115,000 annual pension for retiring from the same job in March 2010.
